Jang Da Ah Says She Doesn't Want to Be Labeled as ‘Jang Won Young’s Sister’

Jang Da Ah is making a name for herself in the world of acting as the rookie actress joins "Pyramid Game."

Interestingly, having amazing visuals runs in the family because she is also IVE Jang Won Young's older sister.

However, she admitted that having a famous sister like the K-pop star puts pressure on her. 

In an interview, Jang Da Ah spoke about her experience with her first K-drama and working alongside rising stars and fellow rookie actresses. 

Jang Da Ah Shares Her Lifelong Dream

The 22-year-old beauty made her acting debut through the webtoon-based thriller K-drama "Pyramid Game."

Taking on the role of popular high school student Baek Ha Rin, the rookie actress received a positive reaction from viewers. 

She is joined by WJSN's Bona, "Single's Inferno 2" Shin Seul Ki, Ryu Da In, and Kang Na Eon from "Crash Course in Romance."

Expressing how "grateful" she is for the great feedback of viewers, Jang Da Ah is thankful for everyone who watched the series as well as the team behind it.

"I am so grateful and happy that I was able to debut with good work and character.".

According to her, it's been her goal to become an actress, and she "didn't feel shaken or bothered" about other things since she was able to fulfill her dream of acting. 

However, she admitted that the only worry she feels is her portrayal of the character and performance in "Pyramid Game."

"When I first showed my acting, I was worried that I wasn't expressing the character well enough or that the audience wouldn't be satisfied. I wasn't particularly concerned about anything else."

During the airing of "Pyramid Game," viewers expressed their stance online and were vocal about seeing "improvement" in some of the cast, including Jang Da Ah. 

In addition, her sister, IVE's Jang Won Young, would send her memes, proving that she supports and watches the show. 

To recall, back in April 2023, she was introduced as IVE Jang Won Young's sister as she signed under King Kong by Starship, making her labelmates with her younger sibling.

Speaking of Jang Da Ah's sister, the 22-year-old rookie actress said that being tied up to the shadows of the IVE member wasn't something that she wanted from the beginning."

However, she acknowledged that she needs to work on herself to present something in the industry on her own and not as Jang Won Young's sister. 

"I was already open about that when I was doing my debut project and first started to be known. I accepted it as something that would follow me regardless of my will. It's something that will come with time as I establish myself as an actress, and the label (Jang Won Young's sister) will gradually disappear over time."

After the "Pyramid Game" wrapped up, Jang Da Ah launched her personal Instagram account as a way to communicate with her fans.
