‘The 8 Show’ Climbs in Netflix’s List of Most-Watched TV Shows Worldwide

In less than a week since the world premiere, "The 8 Show" has proven its reign on the global platform by nearly topping Netflix's list of most-watched TV shows.

As viewers await the release of "Squid Game" season 2, the webtoon based K-drama, which features the same kind of genre, is slowly taking the world by storm.

Headlined by a roster of talented stars like Ryu Jun Yeol, Chun Woo Hee, Lee Joon Young, Park Hae Joon, Park Jeong Min, Bae Sung Woo, Lee Yeol Eum, and Moon Jung Hee, viewers are drawn to the whirlwind story of eight individuals.

Helmed by Han Jae Rim of "The King" and "Emergency Declaration," it is based on the popular webtoons "Pie Game" and "Money Game" that depict the stories of individuals who were invited to participate in a mysterious game.

The catch here is that the 8 participants who were identified based on their floor numbers, need to entertain the audience to secure more money.

Interestingly, "The 8 Show" continues to soar to the international scene by earning a spot in the prestigious Netflix Top 10 TV show rankings.

'The 8 Show' Jumps to 2nd Place in Netflix's Top 10 TV Shows Worldwide

In a report by Flix Patrol, a streaming aggregator service, "The 8 Show" has taken the 2nd spot in Most-Watched TV Shows globally.

From its 7th position after the premiere, the webtoon-based series jumped to the 4th spot and eventually secured its place at 2nd.

In addition to this, "The 8 Show" ranked first in three countries, which include South Korea, Vietnam, and Hong Kong.

Furthermore, the 8 episode K-drama has accumulated over 1.7 million views since it aired on May 17.

Lastly, "The 8 Show" also landed as the most-watched non-English language category on Netflix.

Meet 'The 8 Show' Cast

Viewers witnessed Ryu Jun Yeol transform into a debt ridden yuppy named Bae Jin Soo, who was forced to join "The 8 Show" to get away from the loan sharks.

In the drama, he was introduced as the 3rd floor guy.

Joining him is Bae Sung Woo, who takes on the character of the of the 1st floor guy, a loving father and circus acrobat.

Adding to the list of "The 8 Show" cast members are Lee Yoo Jung, Lee Yeol Eum, and Moon Jung Hee, who played 2nd, 4th and 5th floors respectively.

As for the characters who belonged to the upper floors, which signifies the upper class of society, Park Hae Joon played the thug on the on the 6th floor, Park Jung Min as the logical 7th floor, and Chun Woo Hee played the bratty 8th floor.
