Comedian Shin Dong Yup caused outrage among fans by suggesting actress Park Bo Young on a variety show that has long been criticized for sexual content and inappropriate comedic skits.

The incident occurred on June 25 during the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards handprinting event.
During an interview segment, Shin Dong Yup made an on-the-spot request to Park Bo Young, suggesting she guest on SNL Korea.
Although Park responded with a smile and remarked she would "think about it," Shin quickly "confirmed" her participation, adding, "The timing is just undecided."

The exchange triggered immediate criticism online, with netizens calling the request "inappropriate" and accusing the veteran comedian of pressuring Park into accepting a role that many believe clashes with her clean and wholesome public image.
"Why do they keep forcing her to appear on such a lowbrow show?" one commenter on Korean forum TheQoo wrote."Bo Young unnie, please don't go on it."

Another said, "What is wrong with him? Why is he pushing her so hard? I really hate it. It's disgusting."
The rebooted version of SNL Korea, revived by Coupang Play in 2021, has been criticized in the past for its risqué jokes, sexual innuendos, and provocative impersonations of public figures, including K-drama stars.
Some questioned whether Park's participation would soil her image as Korea's sweetest and most modest actress.
"She's known for her grace and professionalism," another user wrote. "Why would she appear on a show known for crude humor?"

As of Wednesday, neither Park Bo Young nor her agency has issued a formal statement regarding the interaction or any plans to participate in SNL Korea.
Shin Dong-yup has yet to address the backlash publicly.
Scandal Makers, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, and Daily Dose of Sunshine actress Park Bo Young keeps a low profile when it comes to her personal life apart from her work, for the most part.
Her recent appearance at the awards event was her first major public outing in months.
With criticism mounting, fans and industry watchers are questioning the ethics of such on-air "requests" and whether public figures, particularly female celebrities, should be placed in uncomfortable or coercive positions during live events.
"It's not just a joke — it's a power imbalance," wrote one netizen. "She shouldn't be put in that position in front of cameras."
