Rising actress Shin Ye Eun, well-known for her role as Yeon Jin in Netflix's hit K-drama "The Glory," recently disclosed that JYP Entertainment unofficially restricted her from appearing on variety shows.

This revelation comes amid growing curiosity among fans and online communities regarding her sudden absence from such programs.
In a recent episode of MBC's "Point of Omniscient Interfere," Shin, alongside her manager, discussed the strategic decision made by her agency.

The move was intended to protect and maintain her acting image following her surge in popularity. "After my performance in 'The Glory,' people were surprised by my playful and lively off-camera personality," Shin's manager explained. "We worried that her funny antics on variety shows might clash with her acting image, so we submitted a tip-off about it."

When he introduced the boys to comedian Yang Se-hyung as a guest on the show, they asked: "What happened to Shin when he vanished from the variety world?"

"It wasn't a formal ban, but ... when the cameras are off, I chill out. And then once they're on, I get really excited, and I can't really control my energy that well," she responded, copping to why she wasn't there.
First known to the public thanks to her lovable, down-to-earth charms, Shin was the show-stealer in shows like tvN's "Salty Tour," where she humorously spat out a mango she bit into at the sight of sand.

This candid behavior endeared her to fans but posed a contrast to the composed character she portrayed in dramas.
She was silenced by her agency, JYP Entertainment, in a variety of shows to keep up her new image as a serious actress.

However, the agency's intentions aside, fans have not been able to get enough of Ko Du-shim as a TV host on the variety show.
