Actor Choi Daniel publicly apologized to singer and actress IU for an awkward moment during his early days as a radio DJ, revealing the incident on a popular radio show more than a decade after it happened.

On the May 5 episode of KBS Cool FM's Park Myung-soo's Radio Show, Choi Daniel appeared alongside singer Lee Moo-jin.
During the broadcast, Choi fondly recalled the time he spent hosting his program, Pops Pops, on KBS 2FM Radio in his twenties.
He described the experience as both nostalgic and formative.
"It's been over ten years since I hosted the show, and it feels surreal to be back in this time slot," Choi said. "After my show ended, I became a regular listener of Myung-soo hyung's program."
Choi then shared a candid memory from the early days of his DJ career that had stayed with him.
He revealed that during one of his first live broadcasts, IU appeared as a guest on his show.

Still new to hosting, Choi admitted he was overwhelmed and forgot to give IU the proper send-off she deserved.

"I think it was around the third day of going live. I hadn't fully adapted to the pace yet," Choi explained. "When IU came on as a guest, I got so flustered that I completely forgot to mention her album or say goodbye properly. I just abruptly closed the show."
He took the opportunity on air to issue a direct apology to IU in a lighthearted manner: "IU, I'm really sorry. Back then, I didn't know what I was doing — I was inexperienced and forgot to give you a proper farewell. Please forgive me."
The apology drew laughter from both the host and listeners, who appreciated Choi's humility and sincerity.
Fans praised his willingness to acknowledge past mistakes openly, especially in an industry where such moments often go unmentioned.
Choi Daniel is an actor who has become popular with his good acting skills and sense of humor when appearing in dramas 'The Ghost Detective' and 'High Kick Through the Roof.'
