DJ Koo Jun Yeop appeared almost unrecognizable in a family photo posted by his late wife Barbie Hsu's mother on Sunday, prompting a wave of concern and support from fans across Asia.

The photo, shared on social media by Huang Chunmei, the mother of the late Taiwanese actress and entertainer Barbie Hsu, marked the family's first public gathering since Hsu's passing in February.
The image, meant to commemorate Parents' Day, showed a noticeably thinner DJ Koo wearing a black shirt, hat, and glasses.
"This year's Parents' Day feels so sad," Huang wrote in the caption. "My son-in-law is growing thinner by the day, longing for my daughter."
Hsu died on Feb. 3 while traveling in Japan. According to reports at the time, she suffered acute pneumonia.
The news shocked fans and colleagues, sparking a wave of tributes from across the entertainment industry.
Since the funeral, held in March, DJ Koo has largely withdrawn from the public eye.

Taiwanese media previously reported he had lost more than 26 pounds (12 kilograms), and Sunday's image appeared to confirm the significant change in his appearance.
In the photo, DJ Koo's face appears gaunt, his cheekbones and jawline prominently defined. Fans expressed alarm and heartbreak in online forums and social media comments.
"He's barely recognizable. I hope he takes care of his health and finds emotional healing too," one fan wrote. Another said, "I'm just a total stranger, but I'm tearing up... I'm crying in the middle of the night, feeling heartbroken."

Huang acknowledged the outpouring of public emotion, adding in her post, "I'm truly thankful that so many fellow celebrities and members of the public continue to remember my daughter and send me warm messages of support. I will try to stay strong. It won't be easy right away, but I believe things will gradually get better."
DJ Koo is reportedly channeling his grief into a memorial statue project in honor of Hsu.
The statue is expected to be installed at Chin Pao San cemetery in New Taipei, where Hsu's ashes are laid to rest.

However, fans of the prominent nightclub DJ showed their support over social media, mourned the loss of his wife, and urged DJ Koo to take good care of his health.
One message read, "Please take good care of yourself, DJ Koo. Wishing you a warm summer with your family."
