BIGBANG's G-Dragon is drawing widespread attention after mentioning fellow former group member T.O.P by name during a recent YouTube appearance.

This rare occurrence has many fans hopeful for a potential reunion of the original four-member group.
In a new video on comedian Jung Hyung Don's YouTube channel, G-Dragon discussed his past musical collaborations, saying, "There's GD&Taeyang and GD&TOP," referring to the two subunits he was previously part of.
Though seemingly casual, the brief mention has been widely celebrated by fans, as it marks what many believe is the first time in several years that G-Dragon has publicly said T.O.P's name.
Previously, G-Dragon had alluded to his former groupmates without naming them directly.
Many interpret the action as symbolic, especially after T.O.P of BIGBANG left the group amid a string of issues.
The rapper, who departed from both the group and YG Entertainment in 2023, would later say he left in order not to bring any further damage to his bandmates and their careers.
"I've already withdrawn from BIGBANG. I've told the members that I'm withdrawing," T.O.P. said in a social media post earlier this year. "I thought it was inappropriate to continue with the group when I was going through difficult times and causing pain to those around me."

While each BIGBANG member has pursued individual projects in recent years, fans have long hoped for a full-group reunion, often referred to as an "OT4" comeback. G-Dragon's use of T.O.P's name — even briefly — has reignited those hopes.

Social media has since been flooded with emotional reactions, with some fans calling the mention "a healing moment" and "the sign we've been waiting for."

BIGBANG, one of K-pop's most influential and long-standing acts, debuted in 2006 and quickly rose to global fame.
The group has remained largely inactive as a whole since their 2017 hiatus, which was followed by military enlistments and personal controversies.
G-Dragon, who has recently returned to public life following unfounded drug allegations, has hinted at new solo music and appeared at events, including a high-profile fashion ambassadorship.
His appearance on Jung's channel had been promised since last year, making the timing of the release significant to fans.
While no official statements have been made about a potential group reunion, G-Dragon's passing reference has kept the conversation alive, and fans are watching closely for the next sign.
