The film is produced by Hive Media Corp, the studio behind the box office hit "12.12: The Day," and has been described by insiders as its spiritual successor.
Lee's transition to challenging roles continues with his appearance in the forthcoming summer blockbuster "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint," scheduled for release in July.
As "The Assassins" moves into pre-production, filming is expected to commence later this year, marking another landmark in Lee's illustrious career.
