MBC is to film "Dae Jang Geum 2."

An official spokesperson from MBC said on December 30 in an interview, "We are preparing for the production of 'Dae Jang Geum 2.' However, the premiere date has not been confirmed yet."

"Dae Jang Geum" has been aired in 91 different countries, and MBC raised over 12 million dollars for the copyrights of the drama. Scriptwriter Kim Young Hyun, who is currently in charge of scripting "Dae Jang Geum 2," has expressed his concerns.

"MBC feels uncomfortable discussing the sequel of the original drama without the original scriptwriter present," Kim Young Hyun said.

In addition, actress Lee Young Ae of the original Dae Jang Geum has also declined the possibility of filming a sequel once.
