Actress Han So-hee is again grabbing headlines for her creative abilities after posting a pen drawing that fans were hailing as professional-grade work.
Han uploaded a number of photos to social media on August 13, including a detailed hand-drawn piece.
The observers commented that the artwork, drawn using nothing but a pen, displayed delicate technique and was reminiscent of that of a professional painter.
This is not the first time Han's arts background has been featured. The actress once disclosed that she was once accepted into a French art university.
Speaking during an appearance on Nattering with Nah, Han explained her situation at the time.
"I was accepted to a school in France, but in order to get a visa, I needed to have 60 million won(approximately $44,000 USD) in a bank account under my name. Of course, I didn't have that kind of money at the time, so I couldn't study abroad," she said.
Her remarks, however, raised eyebrows among some of the French exchange students, who protested that the visa requirement she explained was not correct.
Han then faced the controversy head-on on her social media. "Some parts were edited out and misinterpreted on the variety show. In reality, I needed around 20–30 million won (valued between $15,000 and $22,000 USD) in the bank.
But even then, it wasn't nearly enough to cover housing costs and living expenses abroad. I was working part-time jobs and pouring all my earnings into the study abroad process—it felt like pouring water into a bottomless jar," she explained.
Her management company, 9Ato Entertainment, also came to her defense by supporting her account. "What the actress shared on the variety program was exactly what she experienced. Her words were true," the company stated in a release.
As her latest sketch gained widespread respect on the internet, Han continues to demonstrate that her talents extend beyond acting, solidifying her image as an actress and an artist.
Meanwhile, Han So Hee rose from moving to Seoul with just $222 to becoming one of Korea's top actresses through hit dramas like The World of the Married, Nevertheless, and Netflix's Gyeongseong Creature.
By 2024, her net worth reached $10–15 million, fueled by acting, endorsements, and luxury assets.
