Jung Sung Il, who became a global star with the Netflix drama The Glory, revealed that his success wasn't enough to save him from financial struggles.

The actor will be on MBN and Channel S's variety program Jeon Hyun Moo Plan 2.

In a newly released preview video, he was heard talking about how he developed as an actor and about the harsh realities he had to endure in his journey.

Jung mentioned his initial interest in performance and his beginning in the theater.

He described, "I did theater for a long time. I did it for about 5 years. I liked theater so I continued to work in Daehangno."

He explained how he made a firm decision to become an actor at a very young age.

Continuing his background description, he stated, "Since I was 21, I dropped out of college in my first year, packed my bags, and moved up to Daehangno in Seoul."

The star confessed that the path was not an easy one, with financial issues mostly taking priority in his life. He recalled during that period, "I worked part-time and did a little performance."

Most of those jobs involved driving. Jung described, "I did a lot of part-time jobs that involved driving, things like designated driving and designated parking."

Jung continued to say that his schedule was demanding at times, stating, "I opened a store in the morning, managed parking there, and worked at a wine bar in the evening."

Though such stories of actors doing side jobs are not uncommon, Jung's revelation was more considerable because it extended even to his period of success.

Coming out plain, he swore, "Actually, I worked part-time even after 'The Glory' ended."

His frank disclosure revealed the financial struggles of most actors despite critical acclaim and global popularity.

Admirers and industry people pointed out that his tale brings into perspective the discrepancy between popularity and financial ease in show business.

Jung's upcoming episode of Jeon Hyun Moo Plan 2 is scheduled to air on August 22 at 9:10 p.m.KST offers viewers a closer look at his journey and the determination that shaped his career.
