On August 27, Song posted a brief footage in which she was waiting near an elevator at a high-rise apartment complex. Then, out of nowhere, Jimin suddenly showed up, surprised to see her.

Jimin stated in the video, "Oh, you startled me. Did you know I was coming in? I came without telling you on purpose."

The site was identified as Nine One Hannam, an upscale apartment building in Seoul where Jimin is currently staying.

The post quickly sparked gossip about the two, who have been subject to such rumors since 2022.

Song was previously rumored to be dating—and even cohabiting with—Jimin. At the time, some fans accused her of fabricating a "self-made dating scandal."

In response to the criticism, Song wrote in 2023, "I'm perfectly sane. Don't try to scare me about how terrifying fandoms are or how I'm supposedly getting sued.

Like before, I've saved all the evidence." She did not confirm or deny the rumors.

She had touched on the problem previously in June, though, when she brought it up again in a livestream.

Setting up her remarks, she responded to cyberbullying. "Just because the idol you like loves me doesn't mean I deserve to be insulted. I wasn't the one who approached him first.

So please stop targeting me, okay? You don't know what I might do if I really lose my temper. You keep saying I'll get sued—no, you're the ones who could get sued, got it".

Her statements fueled debate but left the relationship status unresolved. BTS's management company, HYBE, has not released an official response regarding the newly surfaced video.

Meanwhile, Jimin recently completed his mandatory military service in June and is preparing for BTS's highly anticipated comeback in spring 2026.

Meanwhile, Song Da-eun inked an exclusive contract with Merry-Go-Round Company on the same day the video was being spread.

The agency handles actors like So Joo-yeon and Hong Woo-jin. Song, who made her debut in 2011 with MBC's Can't Live Without You, has acted in dramas like Once Again, Off the Course, and The Golden Spoon.

She also initially gained a broad reputation as a cast member in Channel A's reality dating show Heart Signal 2 in 2018.
