The news was revealed at an Aug. 2 press conference in a Jongno, Seoul, hotel where the cast and crew members met to promote the eagerly awaited series.

The roster featured Jun Ji Hyun, Kang Dong Won, Lee Mi Sook, Park Hae Joon, Kim Hae Sook, Yoo Jae Myung, Oh Jung Se, Lee Sang Hee, and Joo Jong Hyuk, as well as directors Kim Hee Won and Heo Myung Haeng.

Director Kim, who worked on Queen of Tears and Vincenzo, explained how difficult it was to shoot with such a stunning cast.

He stated, "As someone who loves beautiful visuals, I couldn't be happier. With actors as striking as these, the strong yet elegant imagery came naturally.

The only issue was that both Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won are so tall, the set ceilings looked low. We even had to raise the ceiling height to match their stature."

Jun Ji Hyun shared candidly that her admiration for her co-star was a deciding factor. I've been a longtime fan of Kang Dong Won. T

hat honestly played a big role in why I chose this project. I loved his looks before, but through filming, I got to see more of his inner self, and that made it even more special."

She also pointed out their chemistry on screen. "Because he portrayed Sanho so well, I was able to fully embody Munju," she said.

Kang Dong Won reacted affectionately, too, complimenting their working relationship on set.

He stated, "I really fell for Ji Hyun's charm during filming. She brought so much joy to the set, and it made me genuinely happy to work alongside her. I kept thinking, 'This person is truly amazing.'"

Tempest tracks Munju (Jun Ji Hyun), a VIP UN ambassador embroiled in a fatal political intrigue following a bid on the life of a president.

She teams up with Sanho (Kang Dong Won), an enigmatic agent with no definite nationality, and they come to discover realities that imperil the Korean peninsula.

Written by Jung Seo Kyung (Decision to Leave, Little Women) and co-directed by Kim Hee Won and Heo Myung Haeng (The Roundup: Punishment, Badland Hunters), Tempest premieres Aug. 10 on Disney+ alone.
