Actress Hwang Seung-eon has been cautious in speaking about news of her younger sister marrying actor Kwon Yul while trying to reconcile the public interest with the family's privacy.
On September 9, during an interview by OSEN, when asked about her sister's wedding, Hwang responded in a reserved manner. "This isn't something I should comment on. I'm sorry.," she replied.
Her statement was read as a tacit endorsement of the news but also as a means of shielding her sister, who is not a celebrity.
Earlier in May, news agencies revealed that Kwon Yul's wife was Hwang's younger sister. In response, his agency, Team Hope, released a careful stance.
The company said, "The actress's wife is a non-celebrity. We cannot confirm specific family-related details."
Although attempts were made to make the event a private affair, news of the couple's wedding soon emerged.
Accounts indicated that on May 24, Kwon Yul and Hwang's sister exchanged vows in a small church wedding in Seoul, with only close friends and family in attendance.

The two families' relationship attracted extra attention due to previous public outings. In 2015, Hwang Seung-eon's sister joined her on t-cast's Follow Me 7.
A dual photoshoot then elicited online comments like, "Superior genes," and "our sister looks like Liu Yifei."
Hwang and Kwon also shared the screen that same year in the tvN drama Let's Eat 2. Kwon Yul played lead character Lee Sang-woo, while Hwang Seung-eon portrayed Hye-rim, a role that left a strong impression. Netizens revisited the coincidence, commenting, "Now they are family in real life."
Kwon Yul, who made his debut in 2007 with SBS's Run, Mackerel! , has gone on to establish a consistent career with productions such as My Daughter Seo-young, Whisper, Voice 2–3, and Mental Coach Jegal Gil.
He will next be seen in the dramas Connection and A Woman Who Plays and will also make his stage debut in Amadeus.
