SBS's weekend drama "Queen Mantis: Murderer's Outing" ended on Sept. 27 with Go Hyun-jung's memorable performance as Jeong Yi-shin, a ruthless serial killer and guilty mother.

The finale of the drama unveiled the heartbreaking history of Jeong Yi-shin, whose childhood experience pushed her to become a murderer.

Her father, Chung Hyeon-nam, had raped her and murdered her mother, something that provided a background for her violent behavior.

A moment during the finale drove this eerie disclosure home. As per the script, "Following the death of an imitator during a lecture, it was revealed that the reason for Jung Shin's murder was because of his father, Chung Hyeon-nam (Lee Hwang-i), who committed sex crimes against him as a child and even killed his mother, making it impossible to take his eyes off."

Cha Soo-yeol, Jang Dong-yoon, gradually realized about his mother after discovering the truth.

The final scenes had Jeong Yi-shin in prison again, where she found out from the TV that another corpse had been found, before being reunited with her son in an intense visitation scene.

Go Hyun-jung's acting has been widely acclaimed as intense and multi-dimensional. Onlookers commented on how she gave equal measures of cold-blooded cruelty and motherly vulnerability.

A review by SPORTCHOSUN said, "Go Hyun-jung dominated the atmosphere with an intense presence from the beginning of the play, throwing viewers into confusion. He delicately portrayed a character with a complicated inner side with an unknowable look, expression, and subtle breathing changes."

In discussing, iMBC Entertainment News pointed out the emotional effect of the last episode. It added, "In the last episode, Ko Hyun-jung's tears and sincerity toward Cha Soo-yeol neatly concluded all the stories and at the same time clearly defined what kind of drama 'Warts: Murderer's Outing' is."
