Actor Gong Yoo has won the hearts of netizens after he publicly commended a contestant on JTBC's "Singer Again 4" who sang bravely following a life-altering accident.

As AllKpop reported, the actor expressed his tearful response on social media on October 22 after Contestant No. 18 performed a poignant version of Kim Kwang Jin's "Truly." Gong Yoo posted that he was impressed with her performance and her courage to carry on seeking music despite adversity.
In his post, Gong Yoo commented, "I was surprised three times while watching. I once met this person, so hearing about the unfortunate accident and listening to her heartfelt rendition of 'Truly' really struck me... Impression made! I'm cheering for you."

The episode was broadcast on October 21, with Contestant No. 18 singing from her wheelchair. Her powerful performances earned her an "All Again" from all the judges—a rarity of a unanimous nod that left both audience and judges in tears.
According to the Maeil Business Newspaper, the contestant told her story in an emotional interview after her performance. She disclosed, "After passing the preliminary round, I was preparing for the main competition when I was hit by a 1-ton truck. When I came to, I was pinned underneath it, and by the time the driver stopped, six parts of my spine were fractured."
She went on with great determination, stating, "But I was grateful that my voice and arms, the parts I use to sing and play guitar, were unharmed. I thought, 'There are still songs I need to sing,' so I began rehabilitation training just a week ago"
She also remembered that it was meeting Gong Yoo that had inspired her to go on the show. "I hesitated to apply because I wasn't confident, but I once met Gong Yoo while singing for The Trunk OST. He told me he was a fan of Singer Again, so I thought, 'If I go on that stage, maybe I'll leave an impression.'"
Following the show, Gong Yoo posted a screenshot of "The Savior OST" from the Netflix series "The Trunk" with the comment, "I really loved this song." His heartfelt message within minutes went viral and elicited applause from viewers who praised both his compassion and that of the contestant in surviving.
