Comedian and host Yoo Jae Suk addressed the sudden departure of actor Lee Yi Kyung from "Hangout With Yoo."

During the November 8 broadcast of MBC's variety program that launched its new segment titled "Famous but Unpopular People's Gathering" (In.Sa.Mo), he shared his regret over the farewell that never happened.

As per Allkpop, Yoo Jae Suk took a moment before the show officially began and acknowledged Lee Yi Kyung's absence by explaining the reason behind his exit.

"Over the past three years, Yi Kyung has worked hard with us. As many of you may know from the news, he had numerous drama and film schedules, which led to his decision to step down," Yoo said.

He further explained that the decision came about after a lot of deliberation with his production team.

"After coordinating with the production team, he had to leave due to his busy schedule," Yoo added, expressing appreciation for what Lee was able to do.

Lee Yi Kyung joined "Hangout With Yoo" in 2021 and became a beloved member for his impeccable comic timing and rapport with the other cast members.

According to Maeil Business Newspaper, the actor's more recent accumulation of projects in dramas and films gradually made it impossible for him to handle both jobs together.

Fellow hosts Joo Woo Jae and HaHa also weighed in on the situation. Joo commented on the actor's busy schedule, saying: "He had so many commitments over the past few months."

HaHa expressed his regret over the timing of the new segment, adding:

"He should have said goodbye, but the schedule of In.Sa.Mo was pushed back, so he couldn't."

Yoo Jae Suk then appealed to viewers for understanding.

"Because of schedule delays and postponed episodes, he couldn't say farewell. Please understand this situation and continue to support Yi Kyung."

The whole "Hangout With Yoo" cast shouted together to wrap up the heart-touching moment:

"Thank you for your hard work, Yi Kyung!" and "You did well!"

Even though he left, Lee Yi Kyung is still active in show business and will appear in new television and movie projects. Viewers have very much appreciated the warm recognition given by Yoo Jae Suk to the cast as it reflects the camaraderie that defined Lee's three-year run on the show.
