According to coverage from Soompi, the series follows Lee Gyeong Do (Park Seo Joon) and Seo Ji Woo (Won Ji An), former lovers who reconnect years after their breakup when unexpected circumstances force them back into each other's lives.

In a report, it said, "Lee Gyeong Do found himself experiencing a complex mix of emotions when the newspaper where he worked broke the news of Seo Ji Woo's husband's affair."

Gyeong Do has conflicts around his developing feelings for others and the difficulty he often faces at work in managing them. Naver's drama preview provided further insight into their fraught encounter.

However, he was further caught off guard when Ji Woo suddenly sought him out for the first time in years after the article was published, the preview noted.

The emotional strain increases as Ji Woo thanks him for inadvertently helping her to get a divorce. Her unexpected request pushes Gyeong Do to the limit.

Then Ji Woo surprised him by asking him to write an article breaking the news of her divorce, and Gyeong Do responded in anger, saying the next time he saw her would be at one of their funerals.

Things get complicated, though, when it seems that someone is filming the two of them together, despite his pleas for him to cut ties. The development sets the stage for Gyeong Do becoming the subject of an unexpected scoop, making a reporter the target of his own newsroom's gossip.

Soompi further reported that when the rumors start spreading, Gyeong Do's boss steps in.

"When he becomes embroiled in dating rumors with Ji Woo, he is unexpectedly thrust into the spotlight, and his boss Jin Han Gyeong asks to speak to him about the scandal

Another still from the preview of the episode shows Gyeong Do meeting Ji Woo once more in hopes of ending the uproar, with visibly contrasting emotions between the two.

In this instance, Gyeong Do looks uncomfortable as they face each other again after their frosty first reunion, but Ji Woo is utterly relaxed. The second episode of Surely Tomorrow airs on December 6 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
