As reported by LAODONG, the encounter was significant because Kim Eun Sook is not only the most famous television writer in South Korea but also a crucial collaborator who has helped Song overcome serious setbacks in her career. The two have been working together since 2016, when Kim wrote the successful drama "Descendants of the Sun."

The series achieved massive success across Asia and marked a turning point for Song. At the time, her public image had been damaged by controversy. Two years earlier, South Korea's National Tax Service revealed that Song had been retroactively taxed 2.5 billion won. Her agency admitted the issue and issued an apology, but public criticism and boycott calls followed.

LAODONG reported that it was not until "Descendants of the Sun" aired that Song was widely seen as having regained her footing, both domestically and internationally. The role helped restore her reputation and reaffirm her status as a leading Hallyu actress.

Kim Eun Sook would later play a similar role again. In 2022, Song starred in Kim's drama "The Glory," after a period in which her projects "Encounter" and "Now, We Are Breaking Up" failed to meet expectations. During that time, Song faced criticism for repetitive roles and high appearance fees.

By contrast, "The Glory" showcased a stark transformation. Song's portrayal of a vengeance-driven character earned widespread acclaim and led to major accolades, including Best Actress at the Baeksang Arts Awards and the Grand Prize at the 2023 Blue Dragon Series Awards, according to LAODONG.

Kim later spoke about Song's dedication during filming. In a neutral recounting of her comments, the screenwriter said, "I'll give you two months." She added, "I thought she would exercise, but she said with determination, 'I need to lose even more weight'."

With Song having recently completed filming for Netflix's "Tantara" ("Show Business"), her reunion with Kim has fueled speculation that a third collaboration may be on the horizon.

In other news, Song Hye Kyo sparked major buzz after sharing viral photos highlighting her youthful visuals and hinting at growing her hair long again, prompting fans to marvel at her ageless beauty and speculate about a new hairstyle era, according to AllKpop.
