Yoon Son Ha, an actress who used to be a big part of popular Korean dramas, has come back into the public eye after being away from the South Korean entertainment industry for years. She gave a glimpse of her life in Canada nearly ten years after a scandal that ended her career.

Yoon posted an update from Vancouver on February 8, 2026. She has been living there since she left Korea in 2017. The actress, who is known for her roles in The Heirs and Six Flying Dragons, was in a selfie with Lee Hye Eun, another actress. The incident was a rare chance for her to be seen after being out of the spotlight for a long time.

Koreaboo says that Yoon wrote a heartfelt caption about friendship and distance to go with the photo. She wrote about meeting Lee again in the post and then shared her thoughts, saying, "We're always this excited when we meet. Even though we live in the same city of Vancouver, we don't see each other often—but when we do, it's as joyful as if we saw each other just yesterday."

Yoon then thought about her past jobs and how she still feels connected to acting. In the same post, she went on, "It was such a long time ago, but sometimes I still get those subtle feelings that make me think, 'Oh right, I used to be an actress.' Hye Eun unnie is the only person here I can share those feelings with. As a sunbae in acting AND in life, she is someone I can learn so much from—I really adore her."

Yoon Son Ha mostly left the Korean entertainment industry in 2017 after a lot of public scrutiny. At the time, there were rumors that her son was involved in a bullying incident at a private elementary school in Seoul. Reports said that four students, one of whom was her son, attacked another student during a school retreat.

Yoon said the accusations weren't as bad as they seemed, according to xportsnews. Reports of random group violence, she responded, were "mostly different from the facts." However, her answer was widely criticized and sparked public anger.

After that, reports came out saying that Yoon would leave Korea to put her family first. Later, her agency made things clear. Her representative said in a statement,"It is true that Yoon Son Ha is going to Canada to focus on her children and her life as a mother. However, she is not immigrating; that would be an overstatement."

Even though it was made clear, Yoon effectively ended her acting career in Korea after 2017. Hit The Top was her last Korean project. She did, however, appear on a Japanese show for a short time in 2024. Her most recent update has brought up again the controversy from her past and her uncertain future in show business.
