In January 2026, the actress, who is best known for her role in "The Glory," said she would stop doing official business for a while to recover from a procedure that treated chronic epistaxis, or recurring nosebleeds.

On February 15 (KST), Cha shared a number of pictures and videos on Instagram showing times when she had a lot of bleeding. There is a big pool of blood on the asphalt in one picture with the caption "Five years ago." It looks like someone had a severe nosebleed.

In a follow-up clip that showed the episode going on, she wrote, ""For over an hour..." This meant that the bleeding didn't stop.

The actress also sent a message about her recovery along with the pictures. She wrote in her post, "When I open my eyes... Please let me be fully healed so this never happens again!!"

Koreaboo says that many fans were shocked by the pictures because they didn't know how bad her condition was. The actress had the same symptoms for years before seeking help, the outlet said.

Fans who were worried quickly filled the online community site theqoo with their thoughts. One commenter said,"OMG, I used to get nosebleeds pretty often too, but I've never seen anything like that."

Another person said something similar: "Oh my... I used to get really frequent nosebleeds as a kid and even took herbal medicine for it, but it was never that bad... If it's to that extent, that's something else."

Other comments were,"Wow, I've never seen someone bleed that much from a nosebleed." Another wrote, "No, but if it's that severe, that's really concerning... I hope she recovers quickly."

Xportsnews, an entertainment outlet, also covered the news, noting that the actress has a lot of support as she works on getting better.

More fans showed concern and support. One person said, "That's way beyond just a regular nosebleed..." while another added, "Oh my... That's practically the amount you'd lose donating blood...."

Cha hasn't shared any more medical information, but she seems hopeful about her recovery. Fans have been flooding social media with messages of support and encouragement for the actress's health journey since she posted about it openly.
