Director Jang Hang Jun is getting a lot of attention again after old comments he made about how well his movie did at the box office came back online. This caused a lot of people to respond. "The King's Warden," his most recent movie, is still at the top of the local box office and is quickly approaching a major milestone.

The Korean Film Council said on February 24 that the movie had more than 6 million viewers within 20 days of its release. The historical action drama is now at the top of this year's box office, where it has been for 11 days in a row.
Koreaboo wrote about how well the movie did, saying,"According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticket sales data on February 24, director Jang Hang Jun's film, The King's Warden, has reached a cumulative audience of over six million views in just 20 days since its release."
The outlet also talked about how well the movie did at the box office, saying, "Holding the top spot at the box office for 11 consecutive days, it has become the year's highest-grossing film so far."
As the movie gains momentum, people in the industry are starting to wonder if it could reach the 10 million viewer mark, which is a sign of a blockbuster in South Korea.

As more people talk about that possibility, Jang's earlier comments have come back up. According to Sports Kyunghyan, the director said in a previous statement that "If this movie surpasses 10 million views, which it probably won't. I am going to change my phone number, change my name, and get plastic surgery so that no one can recognize me. I'm even thinking about becoming naturalized in a different country."
At first, the comment was thought to be funny, but it has since gone viral as the movie gets closer to the big moment.
People who commented online were both funny and worried. Someone on the internet said, "It's something to be happy about, but I'm slowly starting to worry about the director LOL."
Another added, "Director, get ready..." A separate comment suggested, "Instead of doing that, can you take the team on a trip if they hit 10 million? And please film them having a good time on the trip."
One user also quipped, "His wife is scriptwriter Kim Eun Hee...what is he going to do if she doesn't recognize him LOL."
In the meantime, lead actor Park Jihoon talked about how he changed his body for the role, which made people even more interested in the movie.
