For many fans across Asia, Bae Yong Joon remains frozen in time as the bespectacled heartthrob whose role in "Winter Sonata" helped ignite the Korean Wave. But a rare public sighting of the actor has revealed a dramatically different image, leaving many longtime admirers stunned.

The actor, widely known by the nickname "Yonsama," was recently spotted at Singapore's Changi Airport alongside his wife, former actress Park Soo Jin, and their two children. The sighting, first reported by Singaporean newspaper Lianhe Zaobao and later picked up by Korean media outlets, marked one of the few public appearances by Bae in recent years.
Photos circulating online showed the 54-year-old dressed casually in a cap and face mask. What immediately drew attention, however, was the long gray-and-white hair flowing from beneath his hat.
The look was a striking contrast to the polished image that defined his peak years in entertainment. During the height of the "Yonsama" craze in the early 2000s, Bae became one of South Korea's most recognizable stars, known for his gentle smile, signature glasses and romantic leading-man roles.

While social media users quickly reacted to the actor's transformed appearance, many observers noted that the photos reflected a natural transition into a new stage of life rather than a shocking makeover.
The airport sighting also exposed another side of Bae's life that has been mostly hidden from the public: his life as a father.
According to eyewitness accounts, Bae was seen pulling luggage while keeping a close watch on his children throughout the trip. He reportedly checked on them frequently and assisted them as they moved through the airport. Park Soo Jin remained by the children's side as the family traveled together.

Per Naver, the couple was reportedly accompanied by actors Park Shin Hye and Choi Tae Joon, along with their child. The friendship between the families has attracted attention due to the long-standing bond between Park Soo Jin and Park Shin Hye, who became close after appearing together in the 2013 drama "Flower Boys Next Door".
Bae and Park married in 2015 and later relocated to Hawaii, where they have largely stayed away from public life. Additionally, they have one son and one daughter and seem to be keeping away from the public eye.
Park has refrained from participating in any entertainment-related activities officially since 2017, whereas Bae has been busy with his work and investments.
