No April Wedding For Bae Yong Joon

It was only a few weeks ago that fans of Hallyu icon Bae Yong Joon learned the actor was dating and already rumors of an April wedding are circulating in the Japanese media.

Not so fast, says the actor's agency. While the couple has been dating for a few months, no wedding planners have been contacted.

According to Key East, Bae Yong Joon's agency, the rumors are false.

"It's not true," said a Key East representative. "We have not heard anything about a wedding. The Japanese magazine did not even confirm it with us."

But then it was a Japanese media source that first reported the actor was even dating.

Nikkan Sorts News in Japan first reported the couple's relationship on Dec. 23. It was newsworthy both because he was a star and this was his first official relationship in nine years. He ended a relationship with director Lee Sa Gang in 2004.

The 41-year-old star of "Winter Sonata" confessed that he was indeed dating. Fans soon learned that his non-celebrity girlfriend was Koo So Hee, the 27-year-old second-eldest daughter of Koo Ja Kyun, vice-chairman of the green-energy company LSIS.

Koo may not be a celebrity but she's both beautiful and smart. She studied marketing at Syracuse University in the U.S. and completed advanced coursework in corporate management at Korea University. She worked at LS Electronics for a year.

The couple met at a dinner party hosted by a mutual friend, then traveled to Japan together in November. They were spotted in several locations together dining and shopping.

His agency promptly confirmed the relationship but did not give any details about her identity.

"They are just starting their relationship so they are being cautious but since they are at a certain age, it is a serious relationship," said the Key East representative.

But the Japanese media offered more information that eventually led to Koo So Hee's identity being discovered.

The actor was also in the news recently because he stated that he would be making a small screen comeback and that he was looking at several drama offers. The actor was last seen in "The Legend" in 2007, although he had a cameo role in "Dream High" in 2011.

"A lot of producers are working on pieces, the actor would be interested in," said a Key East representative.

The actor is very popular in Japan due to the Hallyu power of "Winter Sonata." His Japanese dans know him as Yon-sama and they are eager to hear stories about his romance.
