Sung Joon Talks About Romance And miss A's Suzy Bae

At a recent press conference for his new drama "I Need Romance 3," Sung Joon took the opportunity to once more deny the rumors about his real life romance with miss A's Suzy Bae.

At first when he was asked about that relationship all he could come up with was "What can I say?"

But then he repeated what he said earlier, that they were not indeed dating. In fact, the rumors ensured that the two could no longer even be friends. Since the rumors created headlines, he does not dare contact his friend and "Gu Family Book" co-star.

"We're not in contact with each other now," he said. "We were close but we are not so close anymore."

The dating scandal began when the co-stars were seen dining out. Sung Joon was seen putting his arm around Suzy's neck. Both stars and their agencies denied the dating rumors and stated that they were merely friends, dining out that night with several other friends.

Sung Joon was shocked at the reaction to the photos of him putting his arm around Suzy's shoulder. He is sure that it would not have been such a big deal if Suzy were not so famous.

"I didn't think it was a big deal but then I woke up and my name was number one on the search engines," he said. "I didn't mean to create an incident and I realized that I need to be careful about what I do in public. After those rumors I felt so bad for Suzy, so I purposely have not contacted her."

Now the star of "Shut Up Flower Boy Band" has a new romance to worry about, the one in his new drama "I Need Romance 3."

During the press conference he spoke about his current co-star Kim So Yeon. He admitted to being a little intimated by her due to her fierce image in "Iris." Kim So Yeon played a North Korean spy in that drama. 

 "When I actually met her on set, she was so kind and considerate," said Sung Joon. "She wasn't the tough action actor that I imagined."

Kim So Yeon had also heard about Sung Joon. Between his previous roles, his popularity and the rumors she was eager to meet her new drama love interest.

In "I Need Romance," Kim So Yeon plays an older woman who doesn't believe in love and Sung Joon plays a younger man who is a romantic. Naturally his character will have to convince her to believe in love. Sung Joon has already expressed his admiration for Kim So Yeon.

"As for our acting together, she is so good to me that I just plan on piggybacking," he said.

"I Need Romance 3" will focus on the friendship and rivalry between female employees of a home shopping network. The drama, which begins on Jan. 13, will also star Nam Goong Min, Yoon Seung Ah, Wang Ji Won, and Park Hyo Joo.
