The Amazing Race 24 will have all-star contestants and a shocker for the first episode. The reality game show, hosted by Phil Koegan, has announced that it will be bringing back former contestants from previous seasons for its 24th run. CBS announced 11 two-person teams that will go on the adventure of a lifetime, and for this season, almost all the teams were popular at one point or another during their seasons.
The most well-known team would be Herbert "Flight Time" Lang and Nate "Big Easy" Lofton, who are both members of the basketball team, Harlem Globetrotters. They have run the race twice before, making season 24 their third try. They first appeared back in season 15, where they finished fourth, and then in season 18, where they finished second.
Cowboy brothers Cord and Jet McCoy are also among the most popular teams, having joined the race twice before like the basketball team. Hailing from Oklahoma, the two placed second in season 16 and sixth in season 18.
Quite a few teams from season 22 are part of the current crop of adventurers as well. Father and son cancer survivors David and Connor O'Leary will be returning after having to bow out of the race in season 22. David suffered an injury that required surgery and the pair had to finish at eighth place.
Engaged couple John and Jessica, who finished ninth after David and Connor are coming back as well. The two will no doubt be seeking retribution after a history-making mistake during their season. They were actually the first team ever to be eliminated on the mat while holding an express pass.
Their former allies, Joey Graceffa and Meghan Camarena, will be joining them also. The YouTubers finished fifth place in their season and were known to be one of the most positive teams to join the race.
The rest of the teams include William "Bopper" Minton and Mark Jackson (season 20), Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly (season 20), Jennifer Wayne and Caroline Cutbirth (season 22), Natalie and Nadya Anderson (season 21), Margie O'Donnell and Luke Adams (seasons 14 and 18), and Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran (season 23).
The first episode however, will feature a shocking turn. CBS revealed that one of the teams won't even make it to the starting line. Amazing Race 24 will start on February 23.
