The internet was abuzz with excitement after Foo Fighters' frontman Dave Grohl posted in his band's official instagram site a row of master tapes labelled "Foo Fighters LP 8" with a caption that says the new album is "F**king On."

Keeping mum about the whole concept, Grammy awardee Grohl finally gave out a few clues to Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1:

"We haven't really disclosed exactly what we are doing. We're doing something that no-one really knows about and we'll announce pretty soon I think."

"I know what it sounds like and I honestly think the entire concept is really going to take people by surprise and it sounds nuts. We recorded something the other day that's unlike anything we've ever done and it starts with a fuse and then it explodes."

Grohl continued excitedly, saying "We recorded something the other day that's unlike anything we've ever done and it starts with a fuse and then it explodes."

Hailed the nicest and busiest guy in Rock, the Everlong singer Dave Grohl have just rocked the stage in the Grammys night a week ago and won Best Rock Song for "Cut Me Some Slack" with his collaboration with his former band mates in Nirvana and Sir Paul McCartney.

Foo Fighters' last album was "Wasting Light," which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart 4 years ago. They took a break after touring for a year in support of the album.

Foo Fighters returned to the big stage with a special headlining gig in the run-up to February's Super Bowl. The band teamed up with the Zac Brown Band for the February 1 gig. Dave Grohl was also part on the country band's newest EP.

Foo Fighters' new album release date is still not revealed, keeping the fans in suspense, but the former Nirvana drummer claims it is "great."
