Nine Inch Nails Trent Reznor Twitter rant against the Grammys prompted an apology from the show's executive producer.
Grammy's exec Ken Ehrlich told Hollywood Reporter how we was upset with the reaction, but stood his ground when it comes to his decision.
"I'm sorry he was upset," Ehrlich said. "I was really thrilled we were finally getting him on the Grammys. I did tell them we'd take it as long as we could. The number was about five, six minutes long, and we got to within a minute twenty of the end. We got as close as we could possibly get."
Ehrlich continued on why he casted the "Hurt" rocker for the finale: "The final jam started with Arcade Fire a few years ago, and LL Cool J last year. I want to end on a high, an up note. "
This year's Grammys boasted its biggest audience in 20 years but not everyone was happy with how the award show ended.
Trent Reznor, the acclaimed genius behind the industrial act Nine Inch Nails, formed a one-night super band which included Queen of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and Lindsey Buckingham of 70's group Fleetwood Mac for the closing performance of the night.
Unfortunately, the programme ran out of time and cut short their set as producers rolled the closing credits over the second song which included Nine Inch Nails' tune "Copy of A" which segued into the Queens' song " My God Is the Sun."
Trent Reznor took to twitter his frustration after the show by posting: "Music's biggest night... to be disrespected. A heartfelt F*** Y** guys."
When asked how Grammy Exec Elrich is feeling about success of the event, he shared: "It's been an interesting few weeks, I can tell you that. Numb is a reasonably appropriate description."
There were no further comments after the apology from Nine Inch Nails' main man.
