It has been announced that beloved actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman's wake will be held on Thursday evening.
Close friends and family will gather to bid the "Hunger Games" actor farewell at the St. Ignatius Church on Manhattan's Upper East Side, the same church where funerals were held for Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Aaliyah.
This gathering will be a smaller, private affair while a larger memorial service, which will also be held in New York City, is being planned for later in the month.
The Oscar-winning actor left behind his girlfriend, costume designer Mimi O'Donnell and three young children when he was found dead in his West Village apartment on February 2nd with roughly 70 bags of heroin in his apartment.
On Thursday, Broadway theaters will dim their lights to pay tribute to the late 46-year-old actor.
It has been announced that "In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Phil's name to two charities that were very close to his heart: The DreamYard Project (https://dreamyard.com/) and the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation (www.christopherreeve.org). The family wishes to thank everyone for their continued support and good wishes."
As Hoffman's memorial is planned, police are still trying to track down the dealer who sold the acclaimed actor the heroin he allegedly overdosed on.
On Tuesday, police had seized a large amount of heroin from four suspected drug dealers and discovered three cellphones with Hoffman's number in them.
One phone is said to belong to Robert Vineberg, a saxophonist and suspected heroin dealer.
It is still unclear as to whether any of the owners of the three cellphones supplied Hoffman with heroine.
