Henry Cavill, the new Superman, has been seen in Detroit on the set of the untitled "Batman VS Superman" movie.

According to ComicBookMovie, Cavill recently volunteered at a Crossfit competition at Motorcity Crossfit while on set for the new film.

Fans eagerly approached the actor to take pictures.

One fan posted an instagram photo of the actor with, "Meet Henry Cavill, a volunteer at today's Crossfit competition at Motorcity Crossfit. His day job is supposedly wearing a red cape and fighting Batman in a new Hollywood movie shooting somewhere around here."

After Cavill's appearance on set, there has been more word on the highly anticipated "Batman VS Superman" film.

According to Batman-On-Film.com, a source close to production has stated, "My sources tell me a shoot is currently taking place in the Los Angeles area. What's being shot? Well, I've been told it involved the highly anticipated, new BATMOBILE!"

The source continued, "Whether this footage will end up being used in the film or is for the purposes of testing/promotion is not entirely clear. But it does reveal that pre-Terrio/Affleck designs have been retained."

According to the source, the footage of a college football game shot last year in East Los Angeles will be reshot in Michigan in mid-March.

The source explained, "With Chris Terrio now re-writing the film, that footage is likely scrapped."

The "Man of Steel" actor, who has apparently lost out to Robert Pattinson for both the roles of Cedric Diggory in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" as well as Edward Cullen in "Twilight," is keeping superhero fans highly looking forward to the new film.

According to actress Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck will be reporting to set in the beginning of the summer.

"Batman VS Superman" is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.
