The British Academy of Film and Televisions Arts (BAFTA) Awards announced the winners and it was a big suspense for the book lovers' favourite "12 Years A Slave" having no awards in the last hour of the night.
Best Director Alfonso Cuarón raked majority of the trophys with a total of six nods out of 11 nominations, obviously leaving a good impression to the British critics. Meanwhile, American Hustle took home three wins, which included Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress for Jennifer Lawrence.
Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine garnered the Best Actress nod for Cate Blanchett's excellent performance of a psychologically disturbed widower, beating Judi Dench and Sandra Bullock.
Two of the most important BAFTA awards: Best Actor and Best Film finally capped the night, going to "12 Years A Slave," ending what was expected to be a drought to the Steve McQueen's starrer.
Disney animation hit and social media favourite "Frozen" took home the Best Animated Film trophy.
