"American Horror Story" will be returning for season 4 and we're excited!

The show's creator Ryan Murphy has been keeping us on our toes for every season thus far with ghosts, aliens and Nazi surgeons.

A few details of season 4 have been reported by buzzsugar.com.

The season will most likely be set in the 1950s. According to an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ryan Murphy had confirmed, "It's set in 1950. If you look historically at what happened in the year 1950, there's some more clues in that year. It's a period piece."

From the Entertainment Weekly interview, it has been stated that Murphy has narrowed down locations to New Orleans or Santa Fe.

Jessica Lange plot twists are also in the works, in the show as well as outside of it.

Lange will be back as a German character. According the Entertainment Weekly, the "Glee" creator has said, "We try and do the opposite of what we've done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent, so I'm very excited."

The 64-year-old actress will also not be returning after season 4 of the hit show. Costar Evan Peters confirmed to Vulture, "Usually when she says things, she means them, so I would assume that it's the truth."

Lange has intentions of furthering her career in a different direction.

Good news is that the comedy will be present in the 4th season as well.

While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Murphy stated, "Next year will be equally as challenging, because so much of it is period and bizarre and crazy and gothic. My feeling is, if you loved this season, you'll love next season. It has the same sort of comedic tone to it."

This upcoming season will also exclude anything that has to do with Miss Robichaux.

Murphy said, "I would personally never return to something we've done."

He continued, "I'm a little sad to say goodbye to those characters. But next year comes along, and it's a new, exciting batch of people and story, and I think that's the energy and power of the show. I had considered, because I loved writing those women so much, spinning it off and making it a separate thing. But . . . that's not why I did the show."

According to cartermatt.com, it's unclear as to whether Evan Peters will be returning to the show as well.

In an interview with Vulture, Peters has stated that he "liked" the idea that the show will continue with its comedic tone.

The actor also stated, "I'm ready for every season. I love the show and think it's a great work environment with great people to work with and very challenging material, so I would like to continue doing it for as long as I can."

We'll just have to wait for season 4 to see who'll be back!
