"Guardians of the Galaxy" is going to be big. And we all know it.
Walt Disney's Marvel Studios recently released the trailer for this summer's most anticipated movie, "Guardians of the Galaxy."
The movie features a rag-tag team of adventures who are set to protect a powerful orb that Peter Quill (Pratt) stole.
According to fool.com, the film takes place in the same shared universe as other Marvel films, but has very little direct connection to them.
Comparisons have actually been made to "Star Wars," which will be hitting theaters again in 2015.
There is speculation that "Guardians of the Galaxy" will be the "fun deep-space adventure" that will occupy them until the next "Star Wars" hits theaters.
However, if the film is successful, there is chance for sequels that may have "Star Wars" fans converting, ever so slowly.
James Gunn's sci-fi/comedy/action adventure stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and the voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel.
The "Guardians of the Galaxy" team doesn't have a set fan base like "The Avenger" or "Iron Man," although the team was originally created in 1968.
The team consists of two green people, a walking tree, a talking raccoon, and now, Chris Pratt.
After Tuesday's release of the trailer, the song "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede has been gaining a lot of attention.
According to cinemnablend.com, the single was bought and downloaded over 2,000 times on Wednesday alone, boosting sales to over 700%.
The week has yet to end, which means that the numbers will only get higher when Billboard's final count is finished.
The trailer also raised the question of who the voice of Rocket Raccoon belongs to. The answer is Bradley Cooper.
