It looks like Amanda Bynes isn't going to jail. For now, at least.
The actress was arrested in the wee hours of the morning on April 2012 in West Hollywood after her BMW hit the side of an L.A. County sheriff's deputy cruiser.
The "What I Like About You" star was charged with DUI when she refused to take a sobriety test.
The actress, who starred in much-loved movies such as "Easy A" and "She's the Man," was sentenced to three years of probation and three months of alcohol education classes on Monday.
The L.A. Times reported that the charge is known as "wet reckless," which is amongst the lowest offenses prosecutors can allow a suspect to plea in a driving-under-the-influence case.
In addition to the probation and education classes, the 27-year-old former actress must pay a fine to ensure that the DUI charge is fully dismissed.
Amanda Bynes' DUI arrest is just one of the long list of alarming behaviors.
The "Hairspray" actress, who had been causing a social media frenzy on Twitter in the past, started a fire in one of her neighbor's driveways this pasty July.
Liberty Voice has reported that she fled the scene to a nearby liquor store to wash gasoline off her dog.
It has been reported that after this incident, Amanda Bynes had to spend four months in a mental rehabilitation facility in Florida, where doctors diagnosed the former star with schizophrenia.
Amanda Bynes is now living with her parents at their home in Thousand Oaks, California where she hopes to become mentally stable. Her mother, Lynn, is now in charge of her financial and legal affairs as she recovers.
Bynes has enrolled in classes at the Fashion Institute of Design and Marketing Orange County in Irvine, California to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer, according to the Daily Mail.
Her lawyer has told the public that, since her treatment, Bynes is "doing great."
