Katy Perry John Mayer 'Who You Love' Just A Gimmick? ‘Dark Horse’ Singer Wants Out After Engagement Rumours Began!

John Mayer and Katy Perry called it quits earlier this week as reported by E! News but fans were confused to what caused the break up.

Despite their on-off relationship since summer of 2012, this pop music power couple always beat the odds and stayed together, openly gushing about their admiration for each other and even collaborating on the lovelorn single "Who You Love," from Mayer's latest effort, "Paradise Valley."

There were speculations that there were trouble in the midst as the "No Such Thing" singer was noticeably absent during Perry's trip to London and Milan.

Though the "Fireworks" pop star was spotted wearing a diamond ring at the ELLE Style Awards in London, it contradicts the fact that the usual gushing Perry was all about herself lately, without a slip to mention her relationship.

Turns out, speculations were pointing us to the truth.

A source from E! News disclosed that the upcoming world tour of Ms. Perry has pushed the engagement out to the window. The insider says Perry is prioritizing her work this year.

She even tweeted gig details excitedly: "PERTH, ADELAIDE, MELBOURNE, SYDNEY, BRISBANE! I'll be seeing YOU this November! Stay tuned for MORE info," she exclaimed before adding, "And don't worry, New Zealand... I'm coming to see you kiwis too! Dates announced soon!"

29-year old Perry is said to be booked from May until November, so it is understandable that Mayer, 36, might not like what was going on. The E! Source insider revealed though that it was the "Dark Horse" singer who ended the relationship.

The lyrics of their excellent collaboration "Who You Love" goes:
"My boy, he ain't the one that I saw coming
And some have said his heart's too hot to hold
And it takes a little time
But you should see him when he shines.."

Is Perry tired of being "held down" by her man and wants this year to be her moment to "shine?"

We just have to wait and find out if they can still use that single for the future Mayer-Perry wedding.
