It looks like Disney is back in business.
after their latest movie "Frozen" collected almost $1 Billion worldwide in the box office, the film bagged 2 trophies for "Best Animated Film" and "Best Original Song" from the recently concluded 86th Academy Awards Night.
Frozen, which tell the story of sisterly love, beat Dreamworks Animation SKG's "The Croods Universal Pictures' "Despicable Me 2," Hayao Miyazaki's "The Wind Rises" and French anmination film, "Ernest & Celestine."
Media are still buzzing from the breath-taking performance of the film's main song "Let It Go" by Idina Menzel during the Oscars.
Keeping with the theme of the film, Menzel was wearing a blush-toned dress before belting a near-perfect rendition of the Lopez-penned ballad, which Host Ellen DeGeneres called "absolutely beautiful" afterwards.
Nerves did get to her as the first notes were shaky, but Menzel did find her footing soon after.
On the red carpet, the Broadway star admitted to being a little nervous and that she was "trying to go with the flow." Talking to AFP, Menzel said that "If I wasn't nervous, something would be a little off."
It is the 2nd time that "Glee" actress have performed the song; the first being at the Vibrato in Bel Air, CA last February 9 where it was received with a standing ovation.
"Let It Go" composer Robert Lopez and wife, Kristen Anderson-Lopez told Philippine news channel ABS-CBN about the inspiration behind the "Frozen" song":
"We've been listening to Alan Menken and all the other Disney composers. We really wanted to join the canon. We're really, really glad that the song caught on like this. The album is now No. 1 in the country."
Nominees in the Original Song category includes "Happy" from "Despicable Me 2", "The Moon Song" from "Her" and "Ordinary Love" from "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom."
Of course this won't be the Oscars if there won't be any funny mishaps, and it seems John Travolta is not immune from that possibility.
The "Grease" actor, in his introduction for Idiza Menzel's "Let It Go" Performance, called her "wickedly talented" but wrongfully stuttered Menzel's name to what sounded like "Adele Naseem."
Though the funny introduction did not affect the Menzel's Oscars Awards 2014 performance, social media netizens feasted on John Travolta's unflattering mispronunciation.
