The shock and sadness over Philip Seymour Hoffman's death still remains with us.

Recently, the "Hunger Games" actor's mom spoke for the first time since his death.

The Daily Mail reports that at a screening of the late actor's Oscar-winning film "Capote" on Friday, critic Jack Garner read a statement by Marilyn O'Connor.

The "Capote" actor's mother stated, "It has been a devastating loss for us, but I know that you also feel a great sorrow."

She continued, "We miss and cry for the little boy and the man, the brother, the uncle, the husband (to girlfriend Mimi O'Donnell), the father, the friend... We will also miss his talent, his knowledge of his craft, and seeing results of his hard work. He was a gift to me for 46 years. I wanted more."

The retired judge added, "My heart is broken and will never be the same again. I know many of you feel the same. We will find our way through this and hear his clear voice and laughter as we do, because he is cheering for all of us to go on, to shine, to be the best that we can be."

The late actor's mother ended her statement with, "Thank you all and especially, The Little Theatre, a place Phil loved to go and watch movies."

Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead on February 2 in his West Village apartment surrounded by 70 bags of heroin and 20 used syringes, leaving longtime girlfriend Mimi O'Donnell and their three children behind.

According to the New York medical examiner, acute mixed drug intoxication was the cause of the Oscar-winning actor's death.

Benzodiazepine and an "upper" (such as Adderall) were found in the 46-year-old's system along with heroin and cocaine.

Mixing heroin and cocaine is also knows as "speed-balling" and has taken the lives of actors River Phoenix and Chris Farley.

Girlfriend Mimi O'Donnell and the talented actor's three children Cooper, Tallulah and Willa have been getting the support of Philip Seymour Hoffman's good friends including Michelle Williams, David Bar Katz and Cate Blanchett.
