During his interview, Studdard spoke of his weight loss and how life changing his run on "The Biggest Loser" was. The successful singer stated, "The show was - if you can imagine walking into an open field and there's just nothing but mirrors there, and you never had the opportunity before to see yourself in that light. That's what the show is for you."

The singer now weighs 335 pounds and is still working at losing more weight.

He still keeps in touch with his trainer on the show, Dolvett Quince, as he continues with his weight loss. The singer stated that he's developed a "friendship" with Quince.

Along with his tremendous weight loss, Ruben Studdard also has reason to be proud of the amazing things happening with his career.

His sixth studio album released since "American Idol" titled "Unconditional Love" has been doing incredibly well in sales.

Webpronews.com claims that he is one of the biggest selling stars from "American Idol" along with singers Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson.

"Unconditional Love" is a combination of cover songs and a few originals.

Studdard explained his love for covering other people's music by saying, "People are used to hearing particular songs a certain way. And so, to put a new and fresh take on classics is something that I think distinguishes the greats from the OKs."

Despite his immense talent, Studdard still thanks his "American Idol" win for his career.

Ruben Studdard said, "There wasn't very much pressure to try to figure out who I was. I think there was just a lot of pressure trying to figure out where I fit in."

The singer continued, "The one thing about "American Idol" is that it puts you at such a high level, that you feel as if everything you do has to be at that level forever. We start so high."
