Ricky Gervais has been known to make fun of celebrities.
During an interview with The Wall Street Journal, the "Derek" star spoke, once again, about the famous people of Hollywood. He speaks mainly about how Twitter opinions just don't matter, but keeps celebrities simply obsessed.
The comedian stated, "They worry about what someone on Twitter says about them. You may as well walk around public toilets and look for graffiti about yourself because it's relevant."
Ricky Gervais went on to say that he uses Twitter solely as a marketing tool, explaining the reason for his five million followers.
However, recently, Ricky Gervais took to Twitter to be named E!'s Hottie of the Week, which brought the "Derek" star to fake tears of joy after receiving.
Gervais had used Twitter to submit a photo of himself cross-eyed and shirtless so as to win this great honor.
Despite his calm nature and sarcasm towards fame, Ricky Gervais has quite the experience being a "celebrity," as he gained fame for the "Office," the upcoming "Muppets Most Wanted" and the Netflix series "Derek."
As famous as he is, he states that his kind of fame is "different from being famous as Justin Bieber." He explains that he already knew what was right and what was wrong before his explosion of fame, a huge difference between the young Bieber and the 52-year-old writer.
As open as he is about criticism on Twitter, he's also very clear about the way he feels about children and how he's still a child himself, hence his love for the Muppets.
For his new "Muppets Most Wanted" movie, Gervais states that he didn't feel the need to change his approach for a much younger audience.
He blatantly stated to The Wall Street Journal, "Don't patronize kids. Use irony, use sarcasm, and they'll get it."
Gervais and the cast of "Derek" recently finished shooting the second season of the show, which is set to air sometime this year.
