The trailer for "24 Live Another Day" has been released along with cast, season and plot updates.
The new season will take place four years after Day 8 (season 8) with Jack as a fugitive who ends up in London, according to the Daily Mail.
Actor Kieifer Sutherland was seen shooting scenes in London recently. He was reportedly filming running scenes and was spotted smoking cigarettes in-between breaks.
The actor, who has won an Emmy, a Golden Globe and two Screen Actors Guild Awards for his hit Fox show, recently revealed that he's never seen an episode of 24, according to Digital Spy.
An important season update includes a 12-episode format instead of the standard 24 of the previous seasons.
The Telegraph has reported that the latest series of the drama will have Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) attempt to avert the assassination of the US president during his visit to London.
It has been reported that the plot for "24 Live Another Day" will be reminiscent of the first season of 24 Day 1 which showed Bauer fighting to prevent the death of US senator David Palmer.
Although extensive plot details have not been revealed, Jack Bauer is expected to be involved in another race against time as he prevents a global crisis while on the run from the CIA.
The trailer shows cast updates as well. The talented Kiefer Sutherland reprises his role as Bauer and Mary Lynn will continue as Chloe O'Brian. William Devane is reported to continue his role as James Heller, the former Secretary of State.
New additions to the cast include Tate Donovan and Benjamin Bratt.
It has been reported that Stephen Fry will also be a part of the cast as the British Prime Minister, Trevor Davies.
"24 Live Another Day" will begin with a two-hour premiere on May 5.
