‘True Detective’ Finale: HBO GO Crashes While Season 2 Spoilers And Updates Emerge, Matthew McConaughey Not To Return As Director Talks Format Changes

The "True Detective" finale became an event of struggle for many fans. To make up for the difficulties fans faced, we have season 2 spoilers in store for you!

USA Today reported that on Sunday night, fans of the show who were planning to watch the finale on HBO GO had a lot of trouble.

HBO GO reportedly crashed and all viewers got was a spinning circle on a black screen that led them no where.

HBO GO tweeted, "Due to overwhelmingly popular demand for #TrueDetective, we've been made aware of an issue affecting some users. Please try again soon."

Viewers took to Twitter to express their displeasure. A fellow Twitter user wrote, "Next week on True Detective: Marty and Rust frantically scramble to log onto HBO Go to learn what happened this week on True Detective."

Another hilariously tweeted, "On the plus side, the HBO go outrage is helping family togetherness, as people all over call their parents to see if they changed a password."

Hopefully all fans of the show were able to catch up with the finale because spoilers for Season 2 have surfaced!

During the 86th Academy Awards, Matthew McConaughey, who played Rust Cohle, revealed that he "won't be back for Season 2." Mercury News quoted McConaughey saying that he believes Season 1 was "finite."

Although the show hasn't officially been renewed, the popular HBO show starring Woody Harrelson, is most likely up for a second season due to its 10.9 million per week average of viewers.

Creator Nic Pizzolatto revealed spoilers that Season 2 will feature changes in the format and will have the perspective of another director throughout the story.

Pizzolatto added to his plans for Season 2, "And I hope a story that presents new characters in a new place with authenticity and resonance and an authorial voice consistent with this season. Dominant colors will change. South Louisiana was green and burnished gold."

"True Detective" Season 2 may return January 2015.
