Le1f has been making a name for himself in the underground New York nightclub, gay and hip-hop scenes.

Now fans are more than excited about his upcoming EP "Boom."

The "Wut" rapper refers to himself as "gay rapper" and is bound to make it big.

The 24-year-old rapper recently signed with Terrible Records and will be releasing his new EP, "Boom," with the label on March 11.

Motherjones.com has reported that Le1f's record deal is part of a join venture with XL recordings, which represents names such as Thom Yorke and Vampire Weekend.

Le1f explains that he doesn't need a huge production to carry his music. The "gay rapper" states, "I don't necessarily need it to be a fucking Lady Gaga, Janet Jacket production. But I definitely have ideas that require screens and projection and hired dancers."

Le1f started out as a dancer. That didn't stop him from pursuing his music career. While he was studying dance at Wesleyan University, the rapper wrote beats for Das Racist, including the song "Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell."

During an interview with Vogue, the "Spa Day" rapper addressed the Macklemore drama, which exploded on Twitter after the "Thrift Shop" rapper was accused of stealing Le1f's beats.

The Macklemore controversy was later pulled into a discussion about privilege.

Gay rapper Le1f said, "He [Macklemore] shouldn't have ripped off my beat, but to be honest I think there are things he does that are cool. I liked parts of his performance at the Grammys."

In regards to the privilege conversation that was brought into light, the former dancer said " I really don't care about that conversation at all. I feel like the Internet pulled what I said into a new sphere. I didn't realize people would end up quoting me, didn't realize my opinion mattered enough to have journalist write articles about what I said."

He concluded with, "To me it's irrelevant. I feel very neutral about that situation."

We're expecting to experience more of Le1f's music in the near future. Make sure to listen to "Boom."
