The Godzilla 2014 teaser has been the talk of the sci-fi world because it took almost 16 years before another film adaptation was made. Back in 1998, Roland Emmerich did an amazing job bringing the Japanese monster back to life. This movie grossed $55,726,951 in the United States alone during the opening weekend.

That number is hard to beat, but director Gareth Edwards is capable of surpassing that because he was able to create an engaging drama in Monsters with just a small budget. In an interview with Toho Kingdom, the British film director revealed that he is a massive sci-fi fan. He said, "I just found every single film I could get." He added, "I started watching Japanese movies that were showing on Channel 4, including Godzilla movies."

The thrilling scenes shown in the Godzilla 2014 teaser have made many sci-fi fans excited; and Gareth Edwards admitted that he made the film more for himself than fans. He said, "You've got to do what you think is good and you pray that there's enough people in the world who like it too."

Edwards explained, "It's targeted toward people who have never discovered Godzilla, because as much as you want to please the fans, even they would agree to get people who aren't fans and convert them, and make them leave the cinema and say 'Godzilla is really cool.'"

Many fans wonder if there will be more monsters appearing in the movie. The director said, "I kind of want to leave a lot of surprises still in the film." He added, "When I joined the project it was already decided we were going to invent a unique creature that he would be up against. They are definitely inspired by and have a lot of affection by the whole range of Toho creatures."

Will it be more about the monsters or the people? Edwards said, "The obvious thing to say is that we're trying to treat this very realistically and seriously." With that being said, we can expect a balance of drama and action in this film. Check out the Godzilla 2014 teaser below:
