Designer L'Wren Scott was found dead in her Chelsea apartment on March 17.

CNN reports that Scott's assistant found the former model hanging from a doorknob with a scarf around her neck, fueling speculation of a possible suicide.

Officials reported that there were no signs of foul play or a suicide note.

Her assistant told the police that L'Wren Scott had sent a text Monday morning requesting a visit. When the assistant arrived at approximately 10:02am, the renowned designer was already dead in the living room.

Hollywood Life has reported that L'Wren's possible suicide may be caused by her increasing debt.

The designer, who had a collection with Banana Republic, was reportedly forced to cancel her London Fashion Week show at the last minute due to her terrible financial situation.

Although the designer blamed the cancellation of the show in January on a fabrics mishap, a source told UK's MailOnine that Mick Jagger's girlfriend was "hemorrhaging cash" and couldn't afford the costs of the show.

The source went on to add that she was "embarrassed" by her money troubles, but always refused financial help from her musician boyfriend.

L'Wren's company, LS Fashion LTD, reportedly had a deficit of %5,899,548 while Scott owed creditors $7.641 million. The company's debts were increasing every year, worsening the designer's financial situation.

The stunning L'Wren Scott had been dating the Rolling Stones frontman for more than a decade. The talented designer reportedly created many of Jagger's looks for the Rolling Stones' 50th anniversary tour, which is currently in Australia.

The band called off Wednesday night's show in Perth after news that L'Wren Scott was found dead.

Stars including Olive Munn, Marc Jacobs, Bette Midler and Mick Jagger's first wife Bianca Jagger have been tweeting their shock and sadness since the death of the beloved designer was announced.
