Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson and Supermodel Kate Moss were just two of the crowd of celebrities who paid their last respects to British celebrity Peaches Geldof on April 21 at an English Village church.
The St. Mary Magdalene and St. Lawrence Church in Davington in Kent, southern England was chosen as the venue for Geldof's funeral because of its significance to the family. Aside from its proximity to the Geldof family estate, the church has also been the venue of the funeral of Peaches' mother who died in 2000. The Church also served as the venue for the wedding of Peaches' parents and for the wedding of Peaches to her husband in 2012. Peaches married Tom Cohen, a musician, and had two young sons.
The body of the 25-year-old television presenter rested on a white coffin painted with blue sky and white clouds. The back of the coffin also bore a painting of a picture of Peaches with her husband, two young sons and her beloved pet dogs and cat.
Her body will be cremated. Although no official announcement has been given by the family yet, talks are ongoing that her ashes will be scattered in the garden of their family estate.
Other stars who attended the funeral included actress Tudie Styler, musician Bill Wyman and model Jo Wood.
Leaving behind his two young sons aged 23 and 11 months respectively, Peaches was found dead at her residence in Kent last April 7. The cause of death was not identified through the post-mortem conducted. Results of the ongoing toxicology tests are still being awaited for. Police has described the celebrity's death as 'non-suspicious but unexplained'.
Meanwhile, Peaches' father remarked that her death brought 'beyond pain' to the family. Bob Geldof further said, "She was the wildest, cleverest and funniest among us."
