Tom Cruise's "Edge of Tomorrow" is poised to become a huge flop this summer, based on Tracking records, and the Shailene Woodley's low-budget "A Fault in our Stars" is on pace to give the big-budget sci-fi film a run for its money.

According to TheWrap, Tom Cruise's "Edge of Tomorrow" is on pace to debut on June 6 at $25-30 million range, not enough for a big budget movie starring an expensive superstar. To compare, the 2013 "Oblivion" also starring Tom Cruise opened at $37 million in the U.S. box-office. The film went on to gross $286,168,572 worldwide.

The website noted, however that Tracking can be used as a measuring guide for the producers so they can still make up ground in terms of promotions leading to the June 6 release.

"That means 'Edge of Tomorrow' will have to do a lot of business overseas if it hopes to make up its $175 million production budget and marketing costs," it said, although pointing out that Tom Cruise remains a huge international box-office draw just like with "Oblivion" where 70% of its total take was from outside the U.S.

Tom Cruise's "Edge of Tomorrow" tells the story of Lt. Col. Bill Cage who, although without combat experience, discovers that he has the ability to restart his life each time he dies, then he goes off to battle with the aliens again. He will get help from Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) who will train him in the art of war, Entertainment Weekly said. The movie is like Bill Murray's "Groundhog Day" but with a lot of action.

Meanwhile, TheWrap added that Tracking is much more optimistic of Shailene Woodley's "A Fault in our Stars," base on John Green's novel, which only has a budget of $12 million but is on pace to open in the $25 million range.
