"A New Leaf" Kim Myung Min's father Choi Il Wha was suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
On the 9th episode of MBC Wednesday/Thursday drama "A New Leaf" (script Choi Hee Ra, director Park Jae Beom) broadcast on May 29th, Kim Suk Joo (played by Kim Myung Min)'s father Kim Shin Il (played by Choi Il Wha) turned out to be suffering from Alzheimer's disease. All this was revealed on the same day.
Suk Joo lost his memory and changed 180 degrees. Meanwhile, he went to his father often as his father was hospitalized. Shin Yil thought that it was weird that Suk Joo changed. Suk Joo was now much more friendly than before and this was weird to his father. Nonetheless, he was happy whenever his son would come to visit him.
Suk Joo lost his memory and did not know about his father's health conditions. Not knowing anything, he asked about his conditions to his primary physician. The primary physician said to Suk Joo that Shin Yil had diabetes. However, it turned out thtat Shin Yil was actually suffering from Alzheimer's instead of diabetes.
Suk Joo is acting more human and changing his attitude towards others. It will be interesting to see how his relationship with Suk Joo and others will change.
