The Disney animation "Frozen" is officially the highest grossing film of 2013.

"Iron Man 3" also needed to move down the highest grossing movies of all time list to accommodate "Frozen," which now currently holds the fifth position. The movie's hit song "Let It Go," only seems appropriate in reference to "Iron Man 3" letting go of its spot.

In article on Filmonic, "Frozen" reportedly made $1.22 billion worldwide.  Its success is closely followed by Tony Stark and his awesome iron suits.

Here's the list of the highest grossing films of 2013:

1. Frozen $1,219.2 billion
2. Iron Man 3 $1,215.4 billion
3. Despicable Me 2 $970.8 million
4. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug $953.1 million
5. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire $864.6 million
6. Fast & Furious 6 $788.7 million
7. Monsters University $743.6 million
8. Gravity $716.4 million
9. Man of Steel $668 million
10. Thor: The Dark World $644.8 million

Here is the updated list of the highest grossing movie of all time:

1. Avatar (2009) $2.78 billion
2. Titanic (1997) $2.19 billion
3. The Avengers (2012) $1.52 billion
4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011) $1.34 billion
5. Frozen (2013) $1.22 billion

What made the movie so successful?  Of course its success can be attributed to the outstanding cast, heart-warming storyline, and Disney's undeniable box office prowess.  But as Filmonic explains, sales of the movie in Japan might be the biggest contributor.

"Since its March 14th release, "Frozen" has sat on top of the box office in Japan, 11 consecutive weekends. Just last week Frozen made $12.5 million there, bringing its total to $193.7 million. That means it's the 4th biggest movie of all time in Japan, behind only Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Titanic and Spirited Away (the current leader), soon to be 3rd," Filmonic explained in an article.
