Actor and hip hop artist  Yang Dong Geun is in negotiations to play a warrior  in "The Three Musketeers." He will join Lee Jin Wook and CNBLUE's Jung Yong Hwa in a k-drama retelling of the Alexander Dumas novel. The fusion saeguk will follow three Joseon-era adventurers who travel through China and wind up serving Crown Prince So Hyun as his warrior guards.

Al three actors are in final negotiations but it looks as if they will accept the roles. The upcoming drama will feature plenty of romance and action scenes. The three musketeers are Heo Seung Po, Ahn Min Seo and Bak Dal Hyang. Yang Dong Seun will play warrior Heo Seung Po. Jung Yong Hwa plays Bak Dal Hyang. The final warrior will be chosen through open auditions.

Lee Jin Wook plays Prince So Hyeon.

Jung Yong Hwa's character is a poor man of noble birth. Although the singer-turned-actor has appeared in several dramas, including "Future's Choice," "Heartstrings" and "You're Beautiful," this will be his first historical drama.

Lee Jin Wook, who worked with the "Three Musketeers" screenwriter and director in his last drama, "Nine: Nine Time Travels," was eager to take part in "The Three Musketeers" but worried how to fit the drama into his schedule. According to his agency, HB Entertainment, "We really enjoyed reading the script for the first four episodes. Lee Jin Wook was also determined. Because of these things, it was not hard to decide on his participation."

Yang Dong Geun was previously seen in the film "Grand Prix" with Kim Tae Hee and appeared in the 2012 drama "Hero."

The three-season drama has a big scale budget of $10 million. It is a collaboration between writer Song Jae Jung and director Kim Byung Soo.

Filming begins in June and the drama will air in August.
