According to broadcasting officials on Wednesday, Ong will take on the lead role in one of the episodes of the Love: Track series, a rebranded continuation of KBS's traditional one-act drama format previously known as Drama Special and Drama City.

It will feature various romantic stories and is set to air in the second half of 2025. The series will have 10 standalone episodes, each lasting 30 minutes.

Ong's episode will explore the complex emotions of first love, using a wired earphone as a nostalgic symbol in the storyline

After finishing his military service in October 2024, Ong has gradually resumed his career. He first lent his voice to the animated film Nico and later performed in the musical Shakespeare in Love.

He made his acting debut in 2019 with the youth drama A Moment at Eighteen and has since starred in More Than Friends, Strong Girl Nam-soon, and the 2020 musical film Life Is Beautiful.

Ong debuted with the project group Wanna One in 2017 after placing well in Mnet's Produce 101 Season 2.

After the group disbanded in early 2019, he moved into acting and has slowly built a filmography that mixes youthful roles with emotional depth.

As he returns to scripted television with KBS's new project, fans and industry insiders are eager to see how Ong will develop the next stage of his acting career.
